Structural Optimization of High-Pressure Polyethylene Cyclone Separator Based on Energy Efficiency Parameters

The high-pressure polyethylene process uses cyclone separators to separate ethylene gas, polyethylene, and its oligomers. oligomers larger than 10 microns that cannot be separated must filtered through a filter prevent them from entering the compressor affecting normal operation. When separation efficiency of separator is low, cleaned more frequently, which will reduce production efficiency. Research shows improving beneficial for small-particle reduces frequency cleaning. For this reason, Computational Fluid Dynamics simulations were performed 27 sets determine effects eight structural factors (cylinder diameter, cylinder height, cone guide vane angle, exhaust pipe extension length, umbrella structure height) on pressure drop. equations drop using these based energy-efficiency parameters determined. optimization analysis showed can improved by 98.7% under premise only increased 8.2%.
